HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (Contract Position)
As a growing, boutique-style human resources firm located in Barrie, ON, we are currently seeking an individual who has strong organizational and administrative skills to fill the position of Human Resources Assistant. Under the supervision of the HR Partner, the position is responsible for general office administrative duties, as well as assisting with the development of project-related work for clients, as assigned. Key Responsibilities:
- Answering calls, greeting visitors and clients ensuring optimum client relations.
- Developing and maintaining an efficient, current file and record management system both for electronic and paper correspondence and documents as per company standards.
- Organizing and maintaining the library of resources.
- Organizing and maintaining hard copy of relevant client materials.
- Assisting the Recruitment Coordinator with the development and placement of job ads for clients.
- Assisting with tracking and pre-screening of resumes and the co-ordination of interviews, reference checks etc.
- Setting up draft client human resources and health and safety policy templates and handbooks and submitting client policies to the HR Administrator for review and approval.
- Assisting the HR Administrator and the HR Generalist with drafting client employee newsletter articles. Ensuring accuracy and quality standards are achieved.
- Assisting HR Team with social media campaigns and marketing related tasks. Ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assisting with other client projects and research tasks, as required.
- Maintaining inventory of office supplies. Ordering and picking-up office supplies, as required.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and must possess the following:
- Post-secondary education specializing in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or similar
- A minimum of 1 – 2 years’ experience in an administrative office setting.
- Advanced computer skills; Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet applications, etc.
- Excellent written communication skills with a solid vocabulary, attention to grammar and punctuation and ability to create and write blogs, newsletters and other documents.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills in order to build a strong rapport with clients.
- Excellent client service skills.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Excellent research, administration and organizational skills.
- Ability to focus attention on details, to prioritize and work on multiple client projects simultaneously.
- Ability to take initiative and be proactive.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of pertinent data and information.
